Cereal

I love cereal.

I mean. I. really. love. cereal.

It’s basically been the only food I’ve eaten with any consistency (that I “prepare” myself, of course) for the last five years. In fact, I think there are only a handful of days where I haven’t had a bowl (or three) of cereal in the last 1,825 days. I got really good at pouring the exact right amount of milk per bowl of cereal. But if we are being honest, I usually poured extra so I would have to pour more cereal in later.

But today something terrible happened.

Today while I was eating a bowl of Sugar Smacks for lunch I realized something I’ve been trying to hide from myself.

I’m kind of over cereal.

And have been for like two weeks. Two weeks!

Why have I been trying to hide this from myself? Because now I have nothing to eat!

I feel like a part of me has died.

And that I might die. Of starvation.

I am a little over cereal too! I find the best solution is to not eat for a week and then buy a kind I haven't had in forever... it does the trick for me! GOOD LUCK.

I think the trick for me is not eating it for multiple meals a day (particularly the same kind). I'm finding the same holds true for salads, smoothies and sandwiches, too. What's a girl to eat until fall?

i go in huge phases of liking cereal and then hating it. I hated it growing up. then went through a small phase during college of liking it, then an even bigger phase when I got married and then when Cambree started eating real food she LOVED it so I did too, and it just keeps cycling. I think I am starting to love it again!!!

I realized at the beginning of the summer that I now hate Kraft Mac and Cheese—my loyal college food. I was a little heartbroken to realize that time in my life was over. I probably would have enjoyed my last enjoyed box a lot more had I known.

That's a downright sin. Downright I say!
Maybe you should try eating cinnimon and brown sugar oatmeal everday for like 4 months.
Proceed to smell like it.
And then come to your senses that cereal is what we eat.
It's what we eat!

Oye. That's a serious issue. Now for pop tarts.

Ande, whatever happened to it being a special treat? Does this mean I can no longer put a box of sugared cereal in your Christmas stocking? Oh man. Nothing takes up room like a box of cereal.

Nope. Try harder.

You're right, cereal was probably your most consistent trait-well, second maybe to your laugh. I also feel as if a part of you has died, I wonder what will replace it. Poptarts maybe??

I suggest you rebound to Oreos. Double Stuff. No dishes involved.
