Mom's Visit

My mom left yesterday after spending a week with us. She was amazing. She cooked, cleaned, organized, did ALL of my laundry, did months worth of ironing, and brought me water every time I sat down to nurse. She burped, held, bathed, rocked, and loved Zeph. She even slept on the floor of his nursery his first night in his crib because I was nervous. She woke up with every feeding and kept me company. She visited and visited and visited with me. She hugged me when I cried and told me to take a nap. She showed so much love through her service. Zeph is lucky to have her as a grandma. I'm incredibly lucky to have her as a mom. I have finally started to understand just how much she loves me. I'm blown away that I get to be to Zeph what she is to me.

Sweetest post ever. And you're correct, your Mom is the greatest care giver ever! I'm so happy for you. So, so happy.

Aren't moms the best? Zeph is such a handsome fellow, and you will be such a wonderful mother.

And anytime you need to cry about nursing, feel free to call or text or FB message. You're the best and I'm so, so happy for your sweet family.

This is so sweet, Ande. You couldn't have had better help, that's for sure. You are going to be such a good mom. Already you look like such a natural! Love you!

Ohhhhhhhh, it was such a wonderful week. I so appreciate you asking me to come and letting me play house. Never mind that your house was already clean, your fridge stocked (and what wasn't there Joe went and got including Chinese take-out), and your laundry caught up. (I owed you on ironing. Remember all those years when you did it for me?)

Your dad and I always knew you'd be a good mother, but I was so impressed how easily taking care of a newborn is for you. You really have a gentle touch.

Welcome to the world of a mother's love. It can move mountains. I love you.

Thank you for giving us a beautiful new member in our family.

You and Joe have a wonderful home and family and I'm so glad I got to enjoy it this week.

(P.S. Keep me updated on The Voice and those other episodes of The Bible.)

What a wonderful week! Water when you're nursing and hugs when you cry are just what you need that first week. You both look beautiful in this picture. You will be a rock solid mother to Zeph. He is one lucky little boy.

I am sooooo glad your mom was there! Moms are the best, and yours is right up there with the greatest.
Having a mom there to help, counsel, and just chat with you is one of my favorite parts about having a baby. it's true.
