Color Me Happy

Here is my life right now, tonight and many other nights. Paint chips. Endless 1.75” x 1” examples of the colors I love so much that can bring out such tangible emotions in me.

Oh how I hate them tonight. All 175 (and counting) of them.

On the bright side…it’s not Biology homework.

Ande,

I love that picture. I kept looking and looking at it. You just look so artistic. I would have had things all organized and boring. For you: everything is splayed all about and you look beautifully artistic. PS. I talked to Linda today. She proceded to tell me how you were SOOOO beautiful, and well I was cute. HMMMMM!

lOVE, cALI

(my word verification is cilly... I think it means silly)

Cali,

Why thank you! Yes you're right you would have been very organized...I need you. A little organization could help. I keep mixing the colors I don't want to mix. You would not have that problem.

I think you are beautiful. Linda is silly (just like the word verification).

P.S. Cali did you notice Elvis in the background? Ha. I had to chop off his head in order to cut out my roommate's mess on the side. Don't worry...one day I will devote a blog to him. Maybe it will be an ode (you like those). Not to the real Elvis, mind you. To the cardboard one.

Oh, Ande...this scene looks so familiar, except you're in a different living room. I miss it.

Did the painting turn out?

When I first saw the picture I thought it was because you had to experience painting as if you had no arms . . . nope. You're just mixing colors.

I love you. You posted late. No wonder you hate those chips.

Oh Mom...you would think I am trying to paint without arms. I probably should have explained. It's much easier to hold the paintbrush in my mouth when I am mixing colors than to set it down somewhere (it always gets other colors in it when I set it down).

You are funny.

I so thought you were doing the "handicapped artist paints brilliantly with her mouth" experiment, too. Just because I am so NOT artsy and so VERY literal, that's what the picture spoke to me. It's cute, no matter what you're doing. Can't wait until the day I can buy an Ande Payne original for my living room.

Some day all that paint chip and color wheel knowledge will come in very handy in almost every aspect of your life. Artsy fartsy is always a good thing, ask Martha.

At least you CAN paint and draw extremely well. My ability goes about as far as a stick figure... that's it. And colors... whoa man.... I'm ok if you hand me a color.. mixing is a whole other issue. I always seem to end up with brown. maybe you can tell me what i'm doing wrong?
I also love the picture. You are very beautiful, even if you are frustrated with the colors.
