This was bound to happen...

I can still remember my mom reading this scripture to us at family scripture study when I was little:

Isaiah 3
16 Moreover the Lord saith, Because the
daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle
a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

This section in Isaiah has always scared me. Why? Because I’ve always been somewhat vain.

And today…verse 24 came true.

I burned my hair with my blow-dryer.

What?! You who scolded me when I burned mine and told me I should NEVER blow dry on high? How did you have a memory lapse on your own advice? How big is the burn? Oh ho.

This is only funny because Sunday as I was walking in heels way too high for my own good I thought, "Hey I'm walking and mincing and making a tinkling with my feet....this can't be good, this can't be good. I'll bet my ankle snaps in two at this angle." It sounds like this scripture left its impression on both of us (yours being a bit more permanent at this point :)

Good thing you have thick hair.

No worries Mom (Melanie I hope you're reading this) it isn't too bad. And its by my bangs so you can't really see it unless you're looking for it (I hope). I just found it ironic.

Oh I am reading! And my first thought before reading the comments was NOT YOU TOO!!!!

I'm so glad it's just a small spot. Thank heavens you have forgiving hair and skills to fix cute all the time.

And yes, QUITE ironic!!
